Chip Roy @chiproytx - Thanksgiving – a uniquely American holiday— was born at the crossroads of thankfulness to God and gratitude for a nation in which we were free to celebrate His blessings. Through generations of good times and bad, unity and division – we were indeed a “melting pot,” but one that assimilated into a common American identity united by commitment to preserve the blessings of liberty and Christian fellowship.
Today, I give thanks to God for our forefathers who sacrificed to give America to us, and for @realDonaldTrump and his administration for unapologetically fighting to preserve our national identity and for defending her people.
As observed in “The Desolate Wilderness” publishes annually by the Wall Street Journal, these early pilgrims that came to America in 1620 faced daunting odds:
“Being now passed the vast ocean… they had now no friends to welcome them, no inns to entertain or refresh them, no houses, or much less towns, to repair unto to seek for succour; and for the season it was winter, and they that know the winters of the country know them to be sharp and violent, subject to cruel and fierce storms, dangerous to travel to known places, much more to search unknown coasts. Besides, what could they see but a hideous and desolate wilderness, full of wilde beasts and wilde men?”
They marched onward. And 169 years later, George Washington, now President of the United States declared Thanksgiving, saying:
“Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor… Now, therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be- That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks-for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation-for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence…”
This is our American national identity.

I am grateful that @realDonaldTrump and his team have been willing to fight the global elites, the war-mongers, the marxists, the Islamists, and the corporatists for security and sovereignty, but more importantly, for something bigger and more important than quarterly earnings and immediate gratification.
