Mayor Karen Bass @MayorOfLA - I'm thrilled to share that one of the most iconic shows in television history, the show that perfected slow-motion running, Baywatch, is officially being rebooted.
And the best part? It’s returning home to Los Angeles!
Earlier today, the California Film Commission announced a new round of awards through the expanded Film & Television Tax Credit Program, a projected $1.2 billion boost to California’s economy.
Among the 17 selected projects, Baywatch secured a 40 percent tax credit, ensuring the production stays in California. That means filming will take place across our beaches and on soundstages at the Fox Studio Lot in Century City.
From day one, my administration has focused on keeping our legacy film, TV, and entertainment industry right here at home.
Earlier this year, I issued a new executive directive to support local film and TV jobs by making it easier for studios and independent producers alike to shoot movies, television shows, and commercials here in Los Angeles. Executive Directive 11 lowers costs and streamlines city processes for on-location filming, increases access to iconic city locations, including the Port of LA, Griffith Observatory, and parks, to make the City more friendly and supportive of local filming.
Now, we are seeing the results. Productions are returning, good-paying union jobs are growing, and major franchises like Baywatch are choosing Los Angeles.
To the cast and crew: welcome home.

Media Research Center @theMRC - In 1995 Bill Clinton's SOTU address called for an increase in border security as he warned of the rising number of illegals entering the Country.
Clinton would be called a racist, xenophobic bigot by his own party today.
