Collin Rugg @CollinRugg - NEW: LA firefighters were told to abandon a smoldering blaze that later reignited as the deadly Palisades fire, according to text messages.
The LA Times reports that firefighters alerted a battalion chief that the Lachman fire was still smoldering.
Despite their concerns, the firefighters were ordered to pack up and leave the area.
According to federal authorities, the fire reignited, which in turn destroyed thousands of homes and took the lives of 12 people.
People need to be thrown in prison for this.

Congressman Jefferson Shreve @RepShreve - I’m grateful to @SecRollins and @POTUS for their leadership in securing a major agreement with China to purchase millions of tons of U.S. soybeans.
Indiana’s 6th District is home to some of the top soybean producers in the country, and this deal is a win for Hoosier farmers and our ag economy.
I visited the Everett family farm to see firsthand how these investments strengthen agriculture across #CD6 and beyond. #HoosierAg #IndianaFarmers

Congressman John McGuire @RepJohnMcGuire - Video: We are now on Day 30 of the Democrat shutdown.
They’ve continued to vote against helping our most vulnerable, using American’s suffering as their political leverage.
@HouseGOP and I did our job and passed a clean funding bill in September.

Congressman Juan Ciscomani @RepCiscomani - You voted 13 times to keep the government shutdown—risking families in need not receiving SNAP aid, H2A visas not being processed, and federal employees not being paid…while you happily parade around on late night comedy talk shows collecting a paycheck.
That’s disgusting.

Senator Ruben Gallego @SenRubenGallego
Trump’s sitting on $5 billion that could feed families right now. Instead, he’s pretending his hands are tied while Republican leadership blocks bills to fund SNAP.
They are using hunger as leverage. It’s disgusting.

Congressman Nathaniel Moran @RepNateMoran - Yesterday, I joined the East Texas Food Bank board meeting to discuss the ongoing federal shutdown and the impact on families in East Texas.
I’m grateful for their continued support for our community and dedication to providing access to food and resources during this time of enhanced need.

Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) objected to the Senate adjourning until Monday "without a vote so that members of this chamber can make clear whether or not they are willing to give up one weekend to roll up their sleeves and work together to prevent a massive spike in health care costs." Senate then adjourned by voice vote over her objection. Shutdown will at least continue to Day 34, one day shy of the longest U.S. government shutdown.
