Julie Kelly @julie_kelly2 - In his dissent, Judge Greg Katsas (Trump) accurately describes Cook as a principal officer (she was appointed by Biden and confirmed by the Senate in 2023) and not some rando govt employee entitled to due process privileges.
He noted-as I have covered as well-SCOTUS' decisions in recent cases of principal officers fired by President Trump (even lacking a "for cause" showing for removal) heavily favor the president's side.
And the fact Cook wields massive, unchecked power in such a unique position amid substantive evidence of mortgage fraud (at the very least) is even more reason to prevent courts from second-guessing the president's authority here. Cook is in attendance at the Fed Reserve Board meetings today and tomorrow:
