1925 Live @100YearsAgoLive - After 30 years living in a cave, Nebraska hermit Henry Morris leaves to experience the world in 1925.
He hasn’t even seen the world in the 20th century at all, much less in the roaring 20s!
Morris has been living in a self-made cave in the woods southwest of Omaha since the spring of 1925, earning him the nickname “Hermit of the Platte” among the locals. For three decades children whispered about him; farmers spotted him stealing food from their fields; and he attained almost mythical status.
But now he’s out and about once again. He claims that he wants to “journey recklessly into the world before I die.”
So he sets out with an exciting itinerary: 
1. He visits a hotel, where he marvels at the lack of rats in the room, but he refuses to sleep in the clean white sheets.
2. He visits an amusement park, but he’s convinced that the Fun House is a trap.
3. He went on a rollercoaster, but said afterward that he prefers a nice walk.
4. When offered dinner, he grumbles that “city folk eat too much” and refuses to eat it.
5. At a radio station, he’s allowed to speak to the world, but he refuses to believe that anyone can hear him.
Reporters then ask Morris what he thinks of women in 1925. Of their short skirts Morris says: “these are fine. God in the beginning did not intend for the body to be covered up by clothes.”
But their makeup? “It’s not God’s way.”
Despite the excitement of the big city, at the end of the day Morris decides to return to his cave. His last comment to reporters is: “how do you stand all the noise?”
