In the author’s opinion, the Chekists deliberately mentioned this fact, because Jewish political parties and some representatives of the Zionist parties supported the Central Rada and the
Ukrainian state in 1917–1918. The Bolsheviks waged an armed struggle against Ukrainian state 
formations, so the Zionists and Jewish religious figures who cooperated with the Ukrainian national movement at the time were obvious class enemies for the Chekists.
