How to Configure Proxy in Telegram on Android
The proxy setting on Android is found inside Data and Storage, not in Privacy and Security as some guides incorrectly state.
Steps:
Open the Telegram app on your Android device.
Tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
Tap Settings.
Scroll down and tap Data and Storage.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Proxy Settings (under the Proxy section).
Toggle Use Proxy to ON.
Tap Add Proxy.
Select your proxy type: SOCKS5 or MTProto.
Enter the proxy credentials:
Server — the proxy IP address or hostname
Port — the port number (common: 1080 for SOCKS5, 8443 for MTProto)
Username and Password — if your proxy requires authentication
For MTProto: enter the Secret key instead of username/password
Tap the checkmark in the top-right to save.
