No need to be obsessive but I do believe you should have a gun in or nearby every room you spend the most time in, whether that be the kitchen, the room you sleep in, the bathroom where you could be the most vulnerable and of-course your workshop/garage. Also a fortified safe to store the guns when you leave the house for an extended period of time. As for my favorite conceal carry I like the NAA pocket revolvers that chamber hallow point .22 Winchester Magnum. .22 Win Mag is more powerful than standard .22 LR and a great low recoil choice for self-defense. Considering the bullet grain is lightweight with a magnum kick it travels super fast with the ability to ricochet inside the body, potentially damaging multiple different organs per shot. Some people laugh at the .22 as a "pea shooter" until they realize the deadly damage the magnum can actually do.
