I had a methhead mate once, he brought a sandwich bag of various pills around once and said it was pseudoephedrum (however it's spelled).
When they're craving it, it all looks like it. 
This guy was a decades long user and would have been around cooks.
It was random pills, likely the med cabinet from a home invasion.
