If Channing is back in the states there is only one explanation. She left her heart there. 

The gravity of love has drawn her back to where she belongs, with skull hyde. It's like invisible strings pulling her closer and closer to the thing she needs most. Knowing Channing, she may stubbornly deny it til the moment the falls into his arms but the instant that happens it will be as if she was born anew, as if she had never truly lived until that point in time and all of the so called important shit she distracted herself with never really mattered. Through the transformative power of true love we will see Channing and Matthew's salvation, and together they will do great works to awaken the hearts and minds of all those they encounter. In the end times no man will be able to number those brought into the light by Channing and Skull, for it shall be such a great multitude it would be like naming all the stars in heaven.
