Ki is too timid and kind to full on fight someone over bread. Iris is aggressive and pushy to try and fight over it but soft enough to back down and not kill over it. They fought for a bit back and forth and then made a truce. 
Ki was planning it ever since to kill Iris. That's why they're the final 2.
Kay is also dummy so she jumps off before the game begins.
